Harlene Silvern Kennedy is senior counsel at the Miami-based law firm Pathman Schermer Tandy, LLP. Harlene advises clients in real estate and general corporate matters, public-private partnerships (P3s), finance, transportation, and technology and data privacy matters.  Harlene structures complex commercial transactions, ensuring her clients comply with applicable local and federal regulations and contractual restraints while reducing potential risk and maximizing potential gain. Harlene also has extensive experience representing and negotiating with government agencies on both the local and state level. She has broad knowledge of the complex concepts and requirements imposed on government agencies.

A deal-maker and problem solver, Harlene frequently assists entrepreneurial individuals,  local governments, developers, borrowers,  lenders, and all types of corporate entities structure, negotiate  and document their deals. She is adept at resolving conflict between parties and reaching a reasonable position for all.

Harlene helps her client analyze and structure a transaction by obtaining a quick grasp of the relevant industries, understanding the goals and leverage points of the parties, strategizing her client’s positions and reflecting the desired end result in the appropriate documents.

This is accomplished without expansive legal jargon, ultimately saving the client money and reducing risk in the transaction, while minimizing the possibility of a later dispute.
